Dhaka divisional commissioner takes charge as Gazipur City Corporation administrator
Commissioner Sabirul Islam took over the responsibilities during a ceremony took place at 11am at the Nagar Bhaban.
Dhaka Divisional Commissioner (additional secretary) Sabirul Islam officially assumed the role of administrator of Gazipur City Corporation today (20 August).
Commissioner Sabirul Islam took over the responsibilities during a ceremony took place at 11am at the Nagar Bhaban.
Following the handover of the charge, he held a meeting with senior officials and conducted an inspection of the city corporation building.
During the meeting, Sabirul Islam emphasised the government's commitment to creating a corruption-free and discrimination-free state.
"With this principle in mind, we have started working to eliminate any activities beyond the law and policies in Gazipur City Corporation, district administration, and other government bodies. Those of us who are paid with the people's tax money must ensure that we provide complete service," he said.
He also addressed the need for efficient service delivery, stating, "People come to the city corporation for various services, from birth registration to trade licenses. I have instructed everyone in the city corporation to ensure that no one is harassed and that people receive timely and complete services. Our effort will be to ensure that no one leaves the city corporation without being served."
