Education and Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has urged authorities concerned to refrain from forcing employees to resign at educational institutions to prevent the sector from collapsing.
During a meeting with education ministry officials today (25 August), the adviser said that actions will be taken against officials of educational institutions if valid allegations are found against them.
"Teachers and officials of government educational institutions are promoted and transferred by following due procedures. No one can force them to resign," the adviser said.
Expressing his wish to return to a disciplined society, the adviser added that a cordial relationship has to be re-established between students and teachers.
"No one can be insulted personally. We need to put emphasis on maintaining decorum at educational institutions," the adviser added.
