Hasina, 55 others sued over killing of Mawlana Sadikul

A case was filed today (4 September) against 56 people including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina over the killing of Hafez Mawlana Sadikul in the capital's Uttara area during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Other accused in the case include former ministers Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.
Mawlana Sadikul's uncle Ashraf Siddiqui filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Fazana Shakila Sumu Chowdhury. The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked Uttara West Police Station to file the matter as First Information Report (FIR).
Hafez Mawlana Sadikul got severely injured at Uttara Sector-9 as police fired indiscriminately on the rally of anti-discrimination student movement on 19 July. He succumbed to his injuries the next day.
