NCD Clinic launches in Dhaka’s Community Oncology Centre
The clinic is offering integrated non-communicable disease screening service for the first time in Bangladesh
The NCD Clinic -- a permanent project of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Golden City -- started its journey at the Community Oncology Centre in Dhaka on Friday.
It is a joint initiative of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Golden City and Community Oncology Centre - a non-profit charity organization.
The clinic is offering integrated non-communicable disease screening service for the first time in Bangladesh for a nominal fee, according to a press release.
Professor Subhagata Choudhury, renowned writer on health issue, inaugurated the clinic.
The clinics offer healthcare services including measurement of height, weight, calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, blood sugar, prescription and counselling just for a Tk 100 registration fee.
Electrocardiography (ECG) services at a subsidized cost will also be added soon at the clinic.
Former Director, BIRDEM Professor Subhagata Choudhury, Former Executive Director of ICMH, Matuail Professor Saria Tasnim, Associate Professor and Head of Cancer Epidemiology of NICRH Dr Md Habibullah Talukder spoke at the programme among others.
Trustees of Community Oncology Centre Mosarrat Jahan Saurabh, Rotarian Raushan Ara Akhtar and Rotarian Rezaul Hoque were also present at the event.
