The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has arrested Imtiaz Selim, 42, the media coordinator of the banned militant group Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Selim was detained early today in a raid carried out by CTTC members in the capital's Bashundhara residential area, says a DMP press release.
He has been charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Shahbagh Police Station and is named in other cases filed at Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations.

Additionally, three more cases against him are pending in court.
The DMP release added that the process of transferring Selim to court is currently underway.
