A Dinajpur court has endorsed the charge sheet against Rabiul Islam over the attack on Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Ghoraghat of Dinajpur, Wahida Khanam and her father.
Following a hearing, Judge Biswanath Mondal of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court endorsed the charge sheet and fixed the testimony date for February 4, said Israil Hossain, court inspector in Dinajpur.
He said after completing treatment from a hospital in Dhaka, the UNO Wahida Khanam is now Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Ministry of Public Administration.
On November 21, Imam Abu Zafar, Officer-in-Charge of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dinajpur Police and Investigating Officer of the case filed the charge sheet in the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Dinajpur.
A senior police official said 53 individuals have been named as witnesses in the charge sheet, five of whom have already given confessional statements in court.
