LGRD adviser issues stern warning against troublemakers in factories
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Hasan Arif today (4 September) issued a stern warning against attempts to create trouble in the country's readymade garment factories.
"Those who are creating chaos in the name of labour movement in the industrial area are not workers, they are outsiders," he said this after a meeting at the home ministry joined by several advisers and chiefs of armed and law enforcement agencies.
Arif said, "Stern actions will be taken against the troublemakers or those who are found responsible to create unrest in factories to save the country's economy."
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury chaired the meeting.
Jahangir Alam said the members of the law enforcement agencies were not used against people, but some people were responsible to create unrest in the factories, so, action should be taken against them.
The home affairs adviser said police was gradually regaining their morale and image.
"It will take time. . . . can't expect that to happen overnight," he added.
Adviser Arif supplemented Jahangir Alam saying police should also take steps to bring back their image to evade negative public attitude towards them.
He said morality of police was lost due to a series of misdeeds in the past days which exposed them to the image crisis.
The adviser also said joint operations have been conducted to recover illegal weapons, adding, "After that operations, those, who will be found with illegal weapons, will be brought under the law."
