Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today warned the fisheries and livestock officials that no irregularity and relaxation would be tolerated in implementation of development projects.
"No relaxation, irregularity and corruption will be tolerated in the project implementation. Stern action will be taken if any irregularity is found in implementation of the projects," he told a view-exchange meeting here this afternoon.
The Department of Livestock and the Department of Fisheries jointly arranged the meeting with their officials and the project directors of Khulna Division at Khulna Circuit House.
Speaking as the chief guest, Rezaul said the government has taken the development projects with the tax money of common people and that is why all should refrain from wasting the money of taxpayers.
The officials must perform their responsibilities with honesty, devotion and sincerity, he said, adding "The deficiencies of honesty, devotion and sincerity must be avoided. No work can be done incompletely."
Chaired by Fisheries and Livestock secretary Raunak Mahmud, the meeting was attended, among others, by director general of the Department of Livestock Dr Abdul Jabbar Sikder, director general of the Department of Fisheries Kazi Shams Afroz, director general of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute Dr Nathu Ram Sarkar.
