CU vice chancellor’s husband dies
He will be buried at Garibullah Shah Graveyard in the city
Freedom fighter Md Latiful Alam Chowdhury, also the husband of Chattogram University (CU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shirin Akhtar, died on Wednesday.
"He breathed his last today while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the Chattogram Combined Military Hospital (CMH). He was 61 years old," said CU Acting Registrar Professor SM Monirul Hasan.
"Latiful Alam was admitted to the CMH after tested positive for Covid-19 on July 13. One week later, he tested negative for the virus but transferred to the ICU as he was suffering from pneumonia," said the registrar.
According to family sources, his first namaz-e-janaza will be held in the Chattogram Cantonment area at 11 am on Wednesday. Later, he will be buried at Garibullah Shah Graveyard in the city.
