Police have to be vigilant to uproot teenage gang culture: IGP
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary BPM (Bar) instructed the superintendents of police to be cautious so that no teenage gangs can develop across the country.
"In the name of gang culture, children and teenagers intend to involve in various crimes," said the IGP while briefing the newly-appointed superintendents of police at the police headquarters in the capital, according to a press release issued on September 8.
Urging law enforcers to work in cooperation with the people by strengthening community police activities in order to prevent crimes, Javed said police cannot single-handedly prevent crimes.
Additional IGP Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional IGP Shahabuddin Qureshi, Additional IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun and chief of the Criminal Investigation Department of police Mohammad Shafiqul Islam were present at the briefing among others.
