Democracy will be established by overcoming challenges: Fakhrul
He said the primary mission of the BNP is to realise the ideals envisioned by the party founder Ziaur Rahman
Democracy will be established in the country by overcoming all challenges, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (1 September).
"We are committed to building the new Bangladesh. We have vowed to overcome any obstacle and establish democracy in the country," he said after placing a wreath at the grave of former president Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the BNP's 46th founding anniversary.
"Currently, the primary mission of the BNP is to realise the ideals envisioned by the martyred president [Ziaur Rahman], and to restore the democratic system initiated by Begum Khaleda Zia," he added.
He said, "Today, we commemorate this day, and by the grace of Allah, we are able to do so in a free and independent environment, alongside the student community. We believe that the BNP has always provided leadership, and with the right political approach and the support of the people, we will continue to move forward and focus on rebuilding the country."
During the event, BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, AZM Zahid Hossain, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and many other leaders of BNP were present.
