We will retaliate if attacked: Quader warns BNP about 28 Oct rally
"We will not spare them, why should we spare them? Who are they? If they come to power, they will swallow the country," Obaidul Quader said today
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transportation and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader warned the BNP about its 28 October rally and said that if there is an attack, there will be a counterattack.
"We will not spare them, why should we spare them? Who are they? If they come to power, they will swallow the country," he said while speaking to the chief guest at a discussion meeting held at the Dhaka district Awami League office in Tejgaon on Wednesday (25 October).
"Do not believe in their words. BNP has honey in the mouth and poison in the heart. They are traitors. That party cannot be trusted. Vigilance should be maintained if necessary," he added.
"The people of Bangladesh have taken an oath under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. They will free Bangladesh from evil forces," Quader further said.
After the meeting, Awami League announced it would hold rallies in Dhaka on 25 and 27 October.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Awami League presidium member, ordered the party leaders and activists to hold march rallies on Thursday (26 October) and Friday (27 October).
"Procession should be held in every ward of Dhaka. Miscriants have entered Dhaka city. We can't let two crore people be hostage in their hands. We cannot remain silent as a people's party," he added.
Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided over the discussion meeting.
