RAB arrests Rubel for firing on protesters in Rajshahi on 5 Aug
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Johirul Islam, also known as Rubel, for shooting at protesters during the mass uprising in Rajshahi.
Rubel was arrested by RAB during an overnight operation in Cumilla's Daudkandi in the early hours of Saturday.
"The elite anti-crime force conducted an operation in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla and arrested Rubel, who was carrying a firearm in each hand and had shot at students and people during the movement in Rajshahi on 5 August," an RAB official said.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Lt Col Munim Ferdous told BSS that Rubel fired at students and people protesting at Rajshahi's Alupotti area, with a pistol in each hand.
