Section 144 imposed again in Companiganj’s Basurhat
Earlier, section 144 was issued in Basurhat municipal area on 22 February
Upazila administration has once again imposed Section 144 in Noakhali's Companiganj upazila's Basurhat Municipality due to clashes between supporters of Mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and former Upazila Chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ziaul Haque Mir confirmed the matter to The Business Standard at 12:30 am on Tuesday.
He said Section 144 has been issued in Basurhat municipal area from 6 am to 12 noon on Wednesday, fearing that the law and order situation will deteriorate further due to clashes between the two sides of the Upazila Awami League.

A man was shot dead and more than 50 people were injured as two factions of the ruling Awami League clashed at Basurhat of Noakhali on Tuesday.
Earlier, section 144 was issued in Basurhat municipal area on 22 February.
