Shahriar Kabir shown arrested in 2 murder cases
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque passed the order as police produced Kabir before the court after the end of his seven-day remand in housemaid Liza murder case
A Dhaka court today (23 September) showed former president of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Shahriar Kabir arrested in two murder cases filed with the capital's Jatrabari Police Station.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque passed the order as police produced Kabir before the court after the end of his seven-day remand in housemaid Liza murder case. Police pleaded to show him arrested in two separate murder cases.
Of the two cases, one was lodged over the killing of Rafikul Islam in Jatrabari area on 19 July. Rafikul was shot by police on 18 July and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the next day.
The other case was filed over the death of Arif on 19 July. He got shot in his eyes in Kutubkhali area of Jatrabari in the afternoon. Arif was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
