Strict action against disorder on bus routes: Dhaka South administrator
Detailed plans are being made regarding the frequency of buses based on the population's needs
Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Muhammad Sher Ali has warned that any attempt to create disorder in the city's bus routes under the Bus Route Rationalisation plan will face strict action.
He made the statement today (12 September) after the 28th meeting of the BRR committee at the Buriganga Hall of the Dhaka South Nagar Bhaban.
Sher Ali, who is the current president of the Bus Route Rationalisation committee by his position, emphasised that the routes will not be reserved for any specific transport company or individuals.
"If any disorder is caused in the bus routes, we will take strict measures. We aim to maintain disciplined public transportation on these routes and will take all necessary steps to ensure that happens," he said.
Detailed plans are being made regarding the frequency of buses based on the population's needs.
"We are discussing ways to make city transport more modern and passenger-friendly. If there were any previous issues, we will work on overcoming them," Ali added.
In response to a question about fare adjustment, he mentioned that the topic was not discussed in the meeting, but any complaints or suggestions regarding it will be addressed in future meetings.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of decisions made in the previous session and discussed further actions to bring discipline to public transport.
