Adviser Nahid urges Banglalink to introduce unlimited internet packages
He said all the mobile phone operators should introduce unlimited internet packages alongside reducing price of internet
Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam has urged Banglalink representatives to introduce unlimited internet packages.
He said mobile operators should work towards reducing internet costs and introducing unlimited internet packages in line with the demands of the youth.
Nahid, also the adviser of Information and Broadcasting, made the remark during a meeting with a delegation from Banglalink at the advisor's office in the Department of Posts and Telecommunications today.
Banglalink's parent company Veon Limited's CEO Kaan Terzioğlu raised the issue of reducing taxes on SIM cards in Bangladesh to which the telecommunications adviser said the matter involved the Ministry of Finance and would need to be discussed with them.
At the meeting, Banglalink's Chief Legal Officer Zaharat Adib Chowdhury also highlighted various obstacles they have been facing with their popular Toffee application. The adviser later assured him that the issues would be investigated.
Kaan Terzioğlu also expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh.
Banglalink's CEO Erik Aas, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Taimur Rahman, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
