Victory Day celebrations in districts
Rajshahi district administration organised a magnificent parade in the Shahid Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium
The country is celebrating its 49th Victory Day today. Different districts across the country are celebrating the day through various programmes.
Rajshahi
Teachers, students and staff of different educational institutions including the Rajshahi University, Ruet, and Rajshahi College offered flowers at Shaheed Minar in memory of the martyrs.
Besides, Awami League organised a victory rally in the morning to celebrate the day.
The district administration also organised a magnificent parade in the Shahid Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium. Members of the police force, Bangladesh Ansar, Bangladesh Border Guard and students from educational institutions participated in it.
Narayanganj
Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi and leaders of different political parties paid tributes to the statue of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Upazila Nirbahi Office in Rupgonj by placing wreaths in the morning of the Victory Day.
Later, students of different schools of Rupganj celebrated the day through various displays and exhibitions. Narayanganj Zila Khelaghor Asor organised a rally carrying the national flag.
Bhola
Bhola is celebrating the Victory Day with due solemnity. Deputy Commissioner M Masud Alam Siddique and Superintendent of Police Mohammed Kaiser placed flowers in the Liberation War memorial. Various political and social organisations and educational institutions also offered flowers. Discussion programme to observe the day will be held at the evening.
Mymensingh
The Victory Day is being celebrated in the district through various programmes including a National Flag-raising ceremony, parade, physical exercises, paying homage to the martyrs, and discussion programmes.
State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed paid tribute at the Liberation War memorial at dawn.
Marking the day, an art competition was organised for children at the Zainul Abedin Museum.
