"The Labour and Employment Minister assured us to meet our demands within a short time. That is why we are withdrawing the strike," President of Bangladesh Noujan Sramik Federation Md Shah Alam Bhuiyan told The Business Standard.
The water transport workers will resume their works from 12:01am on Sunday.
Earlier on Thursday, the federation called for an indefinite waterways strike from Saturday to press home their 11-point demands.
