Seminar on “Safe food for all: a commitment towards developed Bangladesh”
International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) organised a seminar on "Safe food for all: a commitment towards developed Bangladesh" at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) on Saturday.
Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder was the chief guest. The keynote paper was presented by Dr Ataur Rahman Miton, General Secretary of BASAFE Foundation and Country Director of Huger Free Bangladesh.
Food Minister said, many businesses unfairly produce low-quality and adulterated unsafe foods that are too much detrimental for human health. So, it is more important to make honest and 'safe humans' to ensure safe foods.
The minister also emphasised on building a social movement to stop food adulteration.
Dr Ataur Rahman said, "In order to ensure safe and nutritious foods, it is important to take the initiatives to ensure smooth value chains along with consumer awareness."
Chairman of Consumer Association of Bangladesh, Golam Rahman, and Secretary-General of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh, Kbd. Khairul Alam (Prince) also reiterated the importance of the food safety issue in the context of Bangladesh in their special guest speeches.
