Twenty-six Bangladeshi nationals were detained and quarantined at Dhubri district along Assam-West Bengal Border, while going towards Cooch-Behar in West Bengal with expired-visa.
Confirming the matter to The Economic Times, district police Superintendent Yuvraj said, "These people are quarantined."
Reportedly, the detainees are associated with fishery business and had traveled with a Government pass of inter-district transit from Jorhat to Dhubri.
Following the nationwide shutdown in India, their visa expiration caused them to got stuck up there.
Sources in state government added that the Bangladesh Deputy High commission is informed about the matter.
"These people are likely to be deported after necessary formalities."
