In Chattogram, 263 more people were detected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
On Friday, samples of 1,236 people were tested in seven labs while 263 out of the samples came out Covid-19 positive.
Of the newly infected people, 196 are residents of Chattogram city and 67 are from different upazilas.
With this, a total of 9,668 people have been infected with the deadly virus in Chattogram. Of these, 6,663 are residents of the metropolis and 3,005 are residents of different upazilas.
The Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office informed this on Saturday morning.
No one has died in Chattogram in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 187 people have died of Covid-19 in Chattogram. Among the dead, 136 were residents of the city and 51 were residents of the upazilas.
Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said, "On Friday, 63 out of 219 samples tested in Chattogram University lab came out positive."
He further said 17 out of 261 samples tested in Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) were detected positive while 87 out of 364 samples tested in Chattogram Medical College Lab came out positive.
Seven out of 139 samples tested in Chattogram Veterinary University lab, one in Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab, 34 out of 158 tested in Imperial Hospital Lab and 54 out of 94 samples tested in the Chevron Lab came out positive.
In the last 24 hours, 25 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Chattogram. With this, a total of 1,156 Covid-19 patients have recovered in Chattogram.
