Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has tested positive for Covid-19 in the PCR test by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) as well.
Earlier on Sunday, he tested positive for the disease with the G-Rapid Dot Blot kit invented by his organisation.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Gonoshasthaya Dialysis Centre coordinator Dr Mohibullah Khandakar said, "We got the confirmation on Wednesday via a text and received a copy of the positive result on Thursday."
Replying a query, he said Dr Zafrullah was in a stable condition and had no critical complications.
"However, since both his kidneys are damaged, there is uncertainty about his health," said Khandaker, adding that he needs rest.
Replying another query, he said Dr Zafrullah has been staying at home in strict isolation and he is feeling better there. "There is still no need for hospitalisation."
The Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder requires dialysis every week. He will stay at home in isolation and take all necessary medication for the next 15 days.
