Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has converted an indoor stadium at Kolkata into a makeshift hospital as a treatment measure for the coronavirus infected patients.
The stadium contains around one thousands beds and an expert team including 50 doctors are assigned for this health facility, reports NDTV.
Patients are not being admitted here at this moment as this facility is mainly built as a backup system in case of an increasing number of cases.
Earlier, India went to a 21 days lockdown starting from today.
As of today, India has a total 562 cases and 10 deaths from this pandemic Covid-19.
