Canada keen to boost trade relations with Bangladesh
Lauding the ongoing development of Bangladesh, Benoit Prefontaine said Canada and Bangladesh are having a very good relations since the independence of Bangladesh.
Canada is very much keen to boost trade relations with Bangladesh.
Canadian High Commissioner to Dhaka Benoit Prefontaine said this at a view-exchange meeting with Kazi Sirazul Islam, executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at the latter's office in the capital on Thursday, according to a press release.
Counsellor (Commercial) of the Canadian High Commission to Dhaka Corinne Petrisor was also present at the meeting.
Lauding the ongoing development of Bangladesh, Benoit Prefontaine said Canada and Bangladesh are having a very good relations since the independence of Bangladesh.
He said Canadian entrepreneurs are eager to invest in this country because of its recent business environment and high economic growth.
Terming the Canada as a close friend of Bangladesh, Sirazul Islam said Bangladesh is moving ahead with an aim to make an environment-friendly developed country.
For attracting more foreign investment, he said, the government is going to set up 100 special economic zones across the country.
"The government is ensuring all sorts of facilities, including electricity, water, gas and telecommunication, in the economic zones for investors," he added
