Entrepreneurship development training concludes at Begum Rokeya University
A five-day Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Training Institute (BTI) and the Faculty of Business Studies of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, concluded on 17 June, 2026.
The closing ceremony was held in Room 201 of Academic Building-3 on the university campus.
The training programme was held from 13 to 17 June and covered business plan development, entrepreneurship management, marketing strategies, financial management and leadership development.
A total of 30 students from the Faculty of Business Studies participated in the training.
One of the key segments of the closing ceremony was a business idea presentation session, where participants were divided into three groups and presented their business concepts before the guests.
Following evaluation, one idea was selected as the winning proposal.
Certificates were distributed among the participants at the end of the programme.
The event was attended by Prof Dr Md Ferdush Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies; Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiul Azam Khan, Chairman of the Department of Management Studies; Prof Dr Md Zahid Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Marketing; Prof Dr Md Nur Alam Siddique, Chairman of the Department of Finance and Banking; Assistant Prof SM Ashraful Alam, Chairman of the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS); Prof Sheikh Mazedul Haque of the Department of Marketing; Md Rakibul Hasan, Extension Officer, BSCIC District Office, Rangpur; and Md Rezaul Islam, Industrial Estate Officer.
The training programme was directed by Md Tanzim Hossain, Associate Faculty Member of BSCIC Training Institute.
The programme coordinators were Miftahul Jannat Ripa and Md Jubair Islam, Assistant Faculty Members of BTI.
Speaking at the event, guests emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship development initiatives in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among university students, creating employment opportunities and promoting self-employment.
They said empowering educated youth to become entrepreneurs can play an important role in accelerating the country's economic growth and industrial development.
The joint initiative of BSCIC and Begum Rokeya University aims to nurture entrepreneurial talent among students, encourage innovation and contribute to sustainable employment opportunities.
