Nabil Mustafizur Rahman joins United Commercial Bank PLC as Additional Managing Director
United Commercial Bank Limited (UCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nabil Mustafizur Rahman as Additional Managing Director (AMD). He brings with him extensive experience in the banking sector, having recently served as the Country Chief Risk Officer of Habib Bank Limited Bangladesh.
Mr. Rahman first joined United Commercial Bank PLC in 2018 as Deputy Managing Director and was elevated to Additional Managing Director in 2020. In his previous roles, he was responsible for Risk Management, Islamic Banking, and Transaction Banking. He has also served as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer at BRAC Bank PLC.
With over 31 years of experience in both foreign and local banks and financial institutions, Mr. Rahman is a seasoned leader in Credit Risk Management across Corporate, Retail, and SME Banking. He has expertise in handling large and complex project finance and structured finance deals, along with advanced knowledge in collection and impaired asset management, operational risk management, information security, and Islamic Banking.
Nabil Mustafizur Rahman is an alumnus of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), where he obtained an MBA majoring in Finance and Management Science in 1993. He began his career in Hong Kong and has held various general management roles at renowned institutions such as BRAC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), HSBC, AB Bank, IPDC of Bangladesh, Credit Agricole Indosuez, ANZ Grindlays Bank, and Beximco Group.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rahman has attended numerous training courses and participated in seminars and workshops focusing on different aspects of Banking, Leadership, and Strategy, both locally and internationally.
