Stocks back to green after single day slide
Investors’ participation stood at Tk438.4 crore turnover value, up from Tk406.8 crore in the previous session
Indices closed in green on Wednesday after a day's correction as investors displayed a profit booking approach in the previous session.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX gained 32 points or 0.7 percent to close the day at 4,440 points.
DSES, the Shariah-based index, went up 11 points or 1.1 percent to stand at 1,019 points while DS30, the index comprised of blue-chips, advanced 13 points or 0.8 percent to stand at 1,519 points.
At the port city bourse, CASPI – the prime index – gained 116 points or 0.9 percent to close at 13,540 points.
Investors' participation stood at Tk438.4 crore turnover value, up from Tk406.8 crore in the previous session.
The Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Ltd was the most traded stock with a turnover value of Tk37.7 crore. The stock closed the day with Tk44.5 per share.
Khulna Power Company Ltd was the second most traded stock with a turnover value of Tk15.9 crore, closing at Tk54.4 per share. The stock was followed by Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd with turnover worth Tk15.5 crore and a closing price of Tk198.8 per share.
The SEML IBBL Shariah Fund topped the gainers' table advancing 10 percent, closing at Tk6.6 per share. The stock was followed by Eastern Cables and Quasem Industries gaining 9.9 percent, SEML FBLSL Growth Fund gaining 9.6 percent and Sea Pearl Beach Resort and Spa Ltd gaining 9.5 percent, showed the DSE website.
On the other hand, Northern Jute Manufacturing Company Ltd was the day's worst loser shedding 8.6 percent and closing at Tk383.1 per share. The stock was followed by Silco Pharmaceuticals Ltd losing 6.4 percent, Tosrifa Industries Ltd losing 5.6 percent, Apollo Ispat Complex Ltd losing 5.6 percent and Standard Insurance Ltd losing 5.2 percent, the website further showed.
Out of 356 issues traded, 183 advanced, 126 declined and 47 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
