President, PM greet Kenyan president on its Independence Day
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have greeted Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on the occasion of the Jamhuri Day (Independence Day) of the Republic of Kenya on 12 December.
The Public Diplomacy Wing under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Saturday in this regard.
The president, in his congratulatory message, mentioned that Bangladesh and Kenya share excellent relations at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
He conveyed his strong conviction that the close bonds of friendship and cooperation that happily exist between the two countries would acquire momentum in the coming days to the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
The prime minister, in her greetings message, said that Bangladesh and Kenya enjoy excellent bilateral relations that are marked by common ethos, similar views, quest for development and mutual respect and goodwill.
She pointed out that the present cordial relationship would open up newer opportunities in the mutually beneficial areas of trade and commerce, investment, connectivity, people-to-people contacts, etc. through our concerted efforts for the common prosperity of the two peoples.
The president and the prime minister also extended best wishes for good health, happiness and long life of the president of Kenya and continued peace, progress and prosperity for the friendly people of Kenya.
