Rhea and Showik’s bail orders to be pronounced by special court tomorrow
Rhea's bail plea was rejected by a magistrate court and the actress was sent to 14-day judicial custody.
A special court in Mumbai will be placed to hear the bail plea filed by Rhea Chakraborty, who has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged link in drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The bail plea of both Rhea and her brother Showik, along with alleged drug peddlers, Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra will also be pronounced tomorrow, reported by Times of India.
While Showik was arrested last week, Rhea was taken into custody by the NCB on Tuesday night. Her bail plea was rejected by a magistrate court and the actress was sent to 14-day judicial custody.
After her arrest, Rhea was taken for a medical check-up and Covid-19 test at Sion hospital, following which she spent the night in NCB's custody and was later shifted to Byculla jail.
Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea had stated, "The NCB has used these basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as being someone who finances the illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders. There is no allegation of Rhea having procured or financed any drug whatsoever outside of the period during which she was in a relationship with Rajput."
According to PTI, Rhea's bail application also stated that during her interrogation by the NCB, she was "coerced" into making "self-incriminating confessions" and the actress also claimed that she has not committed any crime whatsoever and has been falsely implicated in the case.
