Job Purpose
This position is responsible to prepare, update, and manage accurate electrical drawings including working drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings based on the design provided by the Electrical Engineer/Designer, ensuring clear, readable, and executable drawings for effective implementation of electro-mechanical works at project sites within stipulated project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and layouts including lighting, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, and related electrical systems based on the design and instructions provided by the Electrical Designer/Engineer.
- Develop clear, accurate, and executable working drawings for site implementation within the stipulated project timeline.
- Revise and update drawings based on site conditions, design revisions, and as-built requirements.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Plumbing, and other service drawings to identify and resolve potential service clashes.
- Extract quantities from approved drawings to assist in material estimation and preparation of BOQ when required.
- Maintain proper documentation, version control, and organized digital filing of all drawings and revisions.
- Ensure drawings follow standard electrical symbols, engineering conventions, and relevant codes such as BNBC and other applicable regulations.
- Support the engineering team during project execution by providing quick updates and modifications of drawings as required.
- Conduct periodic site visits, when necessary, to verify that installations are being executed according to the approved drawing.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Additional Job Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) for electrical drafting.
- Ability to prepare clear and well-structured drawing sheets for construction use.
- Basic knowledge of Revit or other BIM software will be considered an advantage.
- Understanding of electrical engineering drawings, symbols, and drafting standards.
- Familiarity with BNBC and relevant electrical installation codes.
- Good coordination and communication with engineering teams.
- Strong sense of responsibility for delivering error-free drawings.
Educational Requirements
Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognized institute.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years of practical experience in electrical drafting within the construction or building services sector.
