Gold prices fall below Tk1 lakh
With the new rate effective from Friday (18 August), 22-carat gold will cost Tk99,027 per bhori
The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of the precious metal by Tk1,751 per bhori.
With the new rate effective from Friday (18 August), 22-carat gold will cost Tk99,027 per bhori, down from Tk100,777.
The new price has been set in view of the fall in the price of gold in the local market, the Bajus said in a statement today (17 August).
The price of 21-carat gold will cost Tk94,595 per bhori and 18-carat gold will cost Tk81,064 per bhori.
For the traditional method, the prices of gold will cost Tk67,534 per bhori.
However, the price of silver has remained unchanged.
Earlier on 20 July, the price of top-quality gold reached an all-time high of Tk100,777 per bhori following an increase of Tk2,333.
