Dhaka north demolishes 150 illegal installations from Gabtoli

Dhaka North City Corporation on Tuesday demolished 150 illegal wholesale shops, makeshift stalls and other installations from Gabtoli area in Dhaka.

Officials of the corporation said illegal coal, brick and sand wholesale shops in the area were demolished in the area. The mobile courts freed 11 acres of land from illegal encroachers in Gabtoli cattle market and Turag riversides.
Dhaka North teams demolished more than 4,000 illegal installations, collected Tk12,78,000 in fines and sentenced three illegal encroachers to different terms of imprisonment since the drives began on September 22 this year.
Officials concerned said the eviction drives will continue.
