In a Star Sports package ahead of the match between Bangladesh and India, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya spoke about Shakib's specialty as a cricketer.
"Shakib has a lot of experience. I have played so much against him. His control [with the ball] is exceptional. His change of pace and the way he bowls with the new ball always deceives the batters," said Kohli.
"He is a very economical bowler. You need to be on top of the game when you are up against such a quality spinner," he added.
Pandya called Shakib a "street smart cricketer" and praised his leadership.
"Shakib is a very street smart cricketer. He has led his team on his shoulders for quite a long time. The street smartness and knowing what he can do has helped him a lot," he said.
