Former Chattogram Port Authority chairman Rear Admiral Md Sohail has been detained from Banani.
Speaking to The Business Standard, a Detective Branch official confirmed the matter at night. Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police officially confirmed the matter today (21 August) morning.
Md Sohail also served as the director of Legal and Media Wing at elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) headquarters.

He further served as colonel GS of Counter Terrorism Intelligence Bureau (CTIB) and Internal Affairs Bureau (IAB) at DGFI Headquarters.
Earlier on Monday in a letter, the Naval Headquarters said Sohail, who was attached to BNS Haji Mohsin (addl) naval base in Dhaka, was sent on "Compulsory Retirement to Pension Establishment".
