India intentionally opened Dumbur dam, causing floods in Bangladesh: Rizvi
India has never adhered to justice and fairness in the Bangladesh matters, he says
The recent floods in eastern Bangladesh were caused as India intentionally opened the gates of the Dumbur Dam in India's Tripura, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged.
"India never thinks about the life of the people of Bangladesh. People believe that the gates of the Dumbur Dam were opened intentionally, which is why this sudden flood occurred," the BNP leader said at a press conference held at the party's central office in Nayapaltan today (22 August).
"India has never adhered to justice and fairness in the Bangladesh matters," he added.
Rizvi further said, "…there has been heavy rainfall in Tripura for several days, causing the rivers there to overflow... To keep their (India's) areas flood-free, the gates of the dam have been opened at this moment. This is a fact... You cannot deny this.
