Mushfiqur's 150 and Miraz's 50 defy Pakistan with 163-run stand
In the session, the duo accumulated 106 runs from 31 overs, leaving Pakistan's bowlers searching in vain for a breakthrough.
Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan Miraz effectively blunted Pakistan's bowling attack during the post-lunch session on 24 August, guiding their team to a commanding 495 for six at Tea on day three of the first Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. With this performance, Bangladesh now holds a 47-run lead.
Mushfiqur, who has already surpassed the 150-run milestone for the sixth time in his Test career, remains unbeaten on 173. Meanwhile, Miraz brought up his seventh Test fifty, reaching 50 not out. Together, the pair have put on an impressive 163-run partnership for the seventh wicket, much to the frustration of the home side.
The only real opportunity for Pakistan came in the 142nd over when off-spinner Salman Agha managed to generate some extra bounce and turn, forcing Mushfiqur to fend off the ball, which then glanced off his gloves towards Babar Azam at leg slip. However, Babar failed to capitalise on the chance, allowing the partnership to continue unbroken.
