Salman, Anisul, Ziaul placed on 10-day fresh remand each
A Dhaka court today (24 August) placed Anisul Huq, Salman F Rahman and Ziaul Ahsan on fresh 10-day remand each in two murder cases filed against them in New Market and Lalbagh police stations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jasim Uddin passed the order in the evening after the accused were produced in the court.
Earlier in the day, police sought fresh 10-day remand for them upon completion of their previous remand.
They are accused of murder in two separate cases - one filed with New Market Police Station for the killing of Sobuj Ali, and another filed with Lalbagh Police Station for the murder of Khalid Saifullah
On 14 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid placed Anisul Huq and Salman F Rahman on a 10-day remand each.
Salman F Rahman, former adviser to the recently ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and former law minister Anisul Huq were arrested from the Sadarghat area of the capital during an alleged escape attempt on 13 August, according to police.
Former army major general Ziaul Ahsan was arrested in the capital's Khilkhet area on 15 August.
