Chinese company to invest $5.36m in Bepza EZ
Md Ashraful Kabir, member (Investment Promotion) of Bepza and Han Chenguang, managing director of DC Industry (Bangladesh) Co Ltd signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Chinese company DC Industry (Bangladesh) Co Ltd is going to invest $5.36 million to set up a "Bag & Wallet" manufacturing industry in Bepza Economic Zone (Bepza EZ) located at Chattogram's Mirsharai.
In presence of the Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) signed an agreement with the company today (28 August) at Bepza Complex, reads a press release.

This foreign-owned company will produce 2.5 million pcs handbag, 1.5 million pcs backpack and 1 million pcs wallet annually.
2990 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunities in this company.
Executive Chairman said BEPZA always encourages investment in producing diversified products.
He thanked DC Industry (Bangladesh) Co. Ltd. for choosing BEPZA EZ as their investment destination for producing products of diverse nature.
Among others, Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Admin) ASM Zamshed Khondaker, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez along with representatives of the enterprise were present during the signing ceremony.
Mentionable, a total of 31 companies, including DC Industry (Bangladesh), signed agreements to invest in the Bepza EZ with a total proposed investment of $711 million.
