On August 30, 2024, the 'USA Immigrant Visa Pending Case Holders Community from Bangladesh,' a voluntary organisation supporting families seeking U.S. immigration visas, marked its 7th anniversary with a significant reunion and discussion meeting.
Held at Blossom Hotel Limited in Dhaka, the event brought together over a hundred family members under the direction of group moderator Kamol Siddiquee, reads a press release.
The gathering featured special guests, including Director Mr. Hasan Mondal and CEO Taslim Box of Hotel Blossom Ltd., and commenced with a Quran recitation and the national anthem. Key discussions were led by group admin Md. Minhaj Uddin, moderator Murshed Ahmad Chowdhury, Mahbub Rezwan, Syed Manjurul Haque, K. M. Shafiqul Islam, Md Ashraful Haque, and Kamol Siddiquee, focusing on challenges and updates regarding Family-Based Immigration Visas.
The community members voiced their gratitude for the support and guidance received through the group, which has been instrumental in navigating the U.S. visa process.
However, there was notable disappointment over the persistent backlog resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, which remains unresolved even after two years.
In response, an urgent appeal was made to the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, the U.S. State Department, and the U.S. Embassy to resume normal operations at the embassy as soon as the local situation allows.
Participants were advised to actively engage with the State Department and Embassy on social media and to communicate regularly with Congressmen and Senators to highlight ongoing issues.
The admin panel also urged applicants to adhere to USCIS guidelines, avoid misinformation and fraud, and manage their visa applications diligently to prevent further delays.
The event included a detailed discussion on Employment-Based Immigration Visas (EB-3) by Mr. Russell Mahbub, Director and Country Manager of GMN.
The programme was co-sponsored by GMN and Hotel Blossom Limited.
