There are no plans to change the national anthem of Bangladesh, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain said today (7 September).
"The interim government will not undertake such controversial acts," he said this morning (7 September) at a gathering at the Rajshahi Islamic Foundation.
He also said local residents along with madrasa students, will guard the temples during Durga Puja to ensure there are no attacks or acts of sabotage.

"Students of the madrasas were not involved with any form of terrorism. This is a conspiracy and misinformation by the previous government."
Khalid Hossain also said attacking mosques, temples, and shrines is a heinous act, and those who attack places of worship are enemies of humanity and criminals.
"They will be prosecuted under existing laws," he added.
"Just as there have been attacks on the homes of followers of the Hindu religion following political changes, Muslims' homes have also been attacked," said the religious affairs adviser.
"There is no way to view this differently," he added.
Khalid Hossain said the interim government wants to maintain a friendly relationship with India.
