Joint Initiative by KFH and TCF provides relief to flood victims in Brahmanpara upazila
The Krishibid Foundation for Humanity (KFH) and the Treatment Community Foundation (TCF) have successfully conducted a joint relief initiative for flood victims in Brahmanpara Upazila, Comilla district. The event occurred on Friday at Naighar Government Primary School, where a comprehensive relief program was implemented.
The initiative included a medical camp that served over 800 patients, providing free medical treatment and essential medicines. The medical services were delivered by a dedicated four-member team led by Dr Md Kamrul Hasan. In addition to medical assistance, 70 flood-affected individuals received financial aid of 1,000 taka each, and 30 marginal farmers received 25 kg of cattle feed. Water purification tablets and sanitary napkins were distributed to support the affected community.
KFH Chairman Shamsul Islam Kiron outlined that this initiative is part of a broader three-phase relief program for flood victims. The program includes relief distribution during the flood, medical camps, medical provision to address post-flood health issues, and additional support for the affected individuals.
TCF founder and KFH founding chairman Monirul Islam Milon emphasised the need for continued collective efforts to tackle post-flood challenges, highlighting the importance of ongoing support from all sectors of society.
Brahmanpara Upazila Executive Officer SM Azharul Islam expressed gratitude to KFH and TCF for their significant contributions to the relief efforts. Former Secretary and KFH Advisor Md. Anwarul Islam Sikder also commended the two organisations for their timely and effective humanitarian work.
Several notable figures attended the event, including Brahmanpara Upazila Fisheries Officer Joy Banik, KFH Founder member Md Ashraf Uddin, Rafiqul Alam Khan Jimmy, AKM Rafiqul Islam, TCF Member Naimul Islam, and other members of both organisations.
