Dhaka Addl SP Abdullahhil Kafi, remanded for child abduction, suspended
Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullahhil Kafi, who is currently placed on remand over a child abduction case, has been suspended.
A notification announced his dismissal on 3 September, signed by Mohammad Abdul Momen, senior secretary of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, it was published on the ministry website today (9 September).
He will be attached to the Barishal Range DIG office during his temporary suspension period and will be entitled to his arrears as per rules.
According to the notification, Kafi is currently on remand for a case filed at the capital's Hazaribagh Police Station over abducting a child named Alif.
Earlier on 2 September, Kafi was detained at the Dhaka Airport in connection with killing and burning students in Ashulia on 5 August.
The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained him for questioning after being tipped off that he was trying to flee the country.
Then on Wednesday, the police pleaded for Kafi's remand. The court then granted him an eight-day remand.
