DB inspector Arafat on 3-day remand in attempt to murder case

A Dhaka court has placed detective branch (DB) of police inspector Arafat Hossain on a three-day remand in a case lodged for allegedly attempting to kill one Robiul Sunny.
Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order as police produced Arafat before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand in the case today (13 September).
Sunny filed the case against 30 including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina on 11 September with the Ashulia Police Station.
The other prominent accused in the case are Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested Arafat for his alleged role in piling up bodies of protesters on a van and later burning those to conceal evidence in Ashulia during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
A team of RAB-3 detained the disgraced cop from the capital's Aftabnagar area earlier today, RAB sources told BSS.
