Navy arrests 3, seizes weapons in Ctg, Cox’s Bazar

Bangladesh Navy arrested three individuals and recovered domestic and foreign weapons in separate raids in Sandwip upazila of Chattogram and Maheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar.
The operations, conducted on Sunday (15 September), were part of the Navy's efforts to assist civil authorities in recovering illegal arms in the region, according to a press release from Bangladesh Navy.
In Sandwip's Santoshpur union, a joint operation between the Navy and Coast Guard led to the arrest of armed terrorist Sakhawat Hossain, alias Adar, in the Bheribandh area.
Following his capture, another individual identified as Alauddin, was arrested based on Adar's information. During a search of their homes, authorities seized a foreign pistol, domestic weapons, and sharp weapons.
Adar is reportedly wanted in multiple criminal cases, including a murder case.
In a separate raid in Maheshkhali, the Navy arrested Ramiz Uddin, a notorious terrorist and transport extortionist, in Kalamarchhara union's Ward 6.
A shotgun, along with weapon-making equipment, was recovered from his residence.
Ramiz is also known to be involved in previous extortion, murder, and weapons-related cases. The arrested were handed over to police for further legal action.
The Navy, in their press statement, assured that regular patrols and operations would continue to maintain security in the areas under their jurisdiction.
