Menon on 3-day remand in case over attack on Mirza Abbas

President of Bangladesh Workers Party and former civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon has been placed on a three-day remand in a case filed for attacking BNP leader Mirza Abbas during an election campaign in the city's Shegunbagicha area on 15 December 2018.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order after investigating officer of the case produced Menon before the court today with a five-day remand prayer.
According to the case statement, on 15 December 2018, a gang of miscreants equipped with sticks, rods, sharp weapons and cocktails swooped on Mirza Abbas and some BNP leaders during the election campaign in front of Segunbagicha kitchen market, leaving them critically injured.
