Man arrested for raping 8-year-old child in Ctg
A man was arrested in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram last night (5 October) for allegedly raping an 8-year-old child.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Khalek, 45, hailing from Charkakra area under Companyganj in Noakhali.
Following a case filed by the victim's mother, he was produced before the court which ordered to send him to jail today (6 October), said Mojibur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station.

According to police, Abdul Khalek took the child to his house and raped her yesterday evening at Keshabpur area under Sonaichari union of the upazila. A local from the area captured a video from afar and alerted others. Later, locals nabbed him, beat him up and then handed him over to the police.
OC Mojibur Rahman said, receiving a call from National Emergency Service 999, a team of police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.
The victim was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment, he said.
