Frozen foods will be marketed by Sharika Foods and Amandala Limited
Sharika Foods and Amandala Limited, a subsidiary of Taufika Foods and Lovello Ice Cream PLC, a listed food and allied sector company of the county, will manufacture and sell frozen foods in the market in the coming year.
In Bangladesh, the frozen food industry is increasing rapidly, generally in main towns. With the population growing quickly in cities with the emergence of nuclear families (with working parents) the demand for comfort food "ready to cook" is expanding. Urban residents and families are gradually shifting to frozen items, not only protein, such as fish and meats but also vegetables.
In other words, the frozen food industry is one of the most thriving industries in Bangladesh and has become an integral part of the country's economy. The frozen food industry in Bangladesh is expected to be worth over Tk.600.00 crore by 2024 and has been experiencing a yearly 18%-20% significant Gross Average Growth Rate.
Considering the great potential for the development of the frozen food industry, Sharika Foods & Amandala Limited has taken the initiative to construct a frozen foods manufacturing plant at Valuka in the district of Mymensingh with an initial production capacity of 04(four) MT of different kinds of frozen foods per day.
Sharika Foods and Amandala Limited will produce Paratha, Roti, Chicken nuggets, Meatballs, Fishballs, Aaloo puri, Dal puri, Spring roll, Samucha, Singara, processed chicken, beef & mutton, processed vegetables and various types of processed fish. It is expected that the frozen foods of Sharika Foods and Amandala Limited will be available in the market in the coming year. The company plans put emphasis more on the export of their frozen foods than local sale in the domestic market. Target export for "Amandala" products are Middle East, UK, USA and Canada.
