BRAC Bank Astha App achieves milestone of 7 lakh subscriber base

BRAC Bank's digital banking platform, Astha, has reached a significant milestone, crossing the seven lakh customer mark, demonstrating its growing popularity among users.

The smart banking app has become a crucial tool for daily banking, offering 24/7 transaction convenience. In September 2024, Astha set a new benchmark in the Bangladesh banking sector by processing over BDT 12,500 crore in transactions within a single month. This surpasses the app's previous annual transaction figure of BDT 71,000 crore in 2023, with more than BDT 92,000 crore already transacted by September 2024, highlighting its value as a smart banking solution.

The app's customer base has grown remarkably, particularly in 2023, when it saw a 78% year-on-year growth. Starting 2024 with five lakh users, Astha added two lakh users in less than a year, making it the fastest-growing digital banking app in Bangladesh.

Offering a user-friendly interface and robust security features, Astha provides customers with a seamless banking experience. The app supports various digital banking services, such as fund transfers through NPSB, BEFTN, and RTGS without fees, instant mobile wallet transfers, utility bill payments, QR-based payments, and more. It also ensures high security by requiring an OTP for every transaction.

Notably, Astha has introduced several industry firsts, including Astha Lifestyle, charge-free banking, and digital rewards, further enhancing its appeal.

BRAC Bank's Managing Director & CEO, Selim R. F. Hussain, remarked: "Astha is central to BRAC Bank's digital transformation journey. It reflects our strong commitment to customer convenience through digital innovation. The app's rapid growth proves its value and how it has seamlessly integrated into people's lives."

With its tagline "Bank Smart," Astha offers cutting-edge banking solutions while promoting a cashless culture in Bangladesh.
