Sagar-Runi murder reinvestigation begins: IGP
He warned that those who support terrorism and extortion should refrain from taking that path
Police have started reinvestigating the sensational murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Moinul Islam said today (10 October).
"Besides, we have resumed the probe into the gruesome murder of Tanvir Muhammad Taqi in Narayanganj which remained halted," he said after visiting the Ramkrishna Mission Puja Mandap in Narayanganj's Mission Para area.
The IGP stated that so-called godfathers of criminal groups attempted to turn Narayanganj into a town of terror.

The IGP emphasised that no leniency will be shown to those disrupting religious worship and said Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims have built a harmonious Bangladesh together.
Mentioning that Durga Puja is being celebrated across the country with enthusiasm and amid security, he said, "We have ensured that everyone can practice their religion peacefully. Any disturbance surrounding the puja will not be tolerated."
